The first step to a successful claim

Firstly, the accident must have occurred during the last three years (except in the case of industrial disease). It doesn't matter if it happened at your current place of work or if it was with a former employer; you can still claim.

Secondly, it should not be your fault – in other words you must have been following the health and safety rules that apply in your workplace and acting in accordance with your manager or supervisor’s instructions.

Thirdly, there are many reasons that accidents happen – and if you’ve had to suffer because something was overlooked or not managed properly, you have a case for a claim.

It could be the result of any of the following:
  • Faulty equipment
  • Poorly stored goods
  • Uneven floors or unmarked sills and steps
  • Using equipment you’re not trained to operate – or as a result of other people in this situation
  • Lack of supervision or support
But even if it has been caused by something else – do give us a call on 0800 612 6757 and our expert team will ask you a few questions and make an assessment of your claim.
